When I was 16, I loved Lisa Chapman.

Lisa Chapman loved the Heathen Girls…a fun little band from Atlanta…they were just in the right place at the wrong time.

A few years after the Heathens, Atlanta would give the world the Black Crows, the GA Satellites, and eventually Collective Soul.

But – unless you were there in 1984, you don’t know about the Heathen Girls or their MASSIVELY WONDERFUL song “Dark VS. Light“.

And you probably wouldn’t ever get the chance to hear the Heathen Girls EP if it wasn’t for the fact that  years ago, I found a box of those EP’s at the Goodwill store on Moreland Avenue in Atlanta.

I bought like 6 copies, and gave them to all my friends.

The State of the Union, 2012:

Suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike next Monday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death will be cut this April from 72 to only 40. The rationale for the cut was the increase in recent years of the number of suicide bombings and a subsequent shortage of virgins in the afterlife.

Apparently the drop in the number of suicide bombings has been largely put down to the emergence of the Scottish singing star, Susan Boyle. Now that Muslims know what a virgin looks like, they are not so keen on going to paradise.
